Claude Code

Anthropic's coding agent, in the terminal, your IDE and the desktop app. The Laterbase plugin brings the MCP server and skills like /laterbase:quick and /laterbase:recommend, signed in with your account.

Install the plugin

If you'd rather not use the plugin, you can add the server with an API key.

  1. Run this in your terminal. --scope user makes it available in every project on this machine.
Shell
claude plugin marketplace add --scope user \
  https://laterbase.dev/claude-code/marketplace.json
claude plugin install --scope user laterbase@laterbase

Then, in Claude Code, open /plugin, pick the Laterbase server and press Enter. Sign in to Laterbase in the browser tab that opens and allow Claude Code. Sessions started from now on can use the tools and skills; restart any that were already open.

If you added Laterbase with claude mcp add before, remove that server so the tools don't show up twice. A Claude.ai connector can stay: Claude Code on this machine uses the plugin, and Claude Code in the cloud uses the connector.

Check it works

Inside a session, /mcp lists plugin:laterbase:laterbase under Built-in MCPs as connected, with its tools. Ask which Laterbase workspace am I in? and it answers with your workspace. The sign-in is listed under Connected apps on Connections.

Remove the plugin

Shell
claude plugin uninstall --scope user laterbase@laterbase
claude plugin marketplace remove laterbase

This removes the plugin and its marketplace. To revoke its access from this side, press Disconnect next to it under Connected apps on Connections.

Without the plugin

You can add the MCP server yourself with an API key. You get the same tools, without the skills. It's also how agents work in two workspaces at once.

  1. Sign in, open Connections on the dashboard and create an API key. It's shown once, so copy it into the snippet straight away. One key per machine keeps things tidy.
  2. Run this in your terminal, with your key in place of the placeholder.
Shell
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http laterbase \
  https://laterbase.dev/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer lb_live_your_key"

In more than one workspace? Add one server per workspace, each with its own key and a name like laterbase-acme, so agents can work in both at once. See Workspaces and connections.

claude mcp list shows laterbase as connected.

Shell
claude mcp remove --scope user laterbase

That removes the server. To cut it off for good, revoke the key on Connections. Agents using it stop working on their next call.
