Cursor
The AI code editor from Anysphere. Its agent uses Laterbase as a remote MCP server, installed in one click and signed in with your account.
Connect
- Click Add to Cursor below and press Install in Cursor. To add it by hand instead, put the server in
~/.cursor/mcp.jsonfor every project, or in.cursor/mcp.jsonin one repo, merging it intomcpServersif the file already has other servers.
Then, in Cursor's settings, open the MCP section and click Connect next to laterbase. Sign in to Laterbase in the browser tab that opens and allow Cursor.
Check it works
Cursor's MCP settings list laterbase with a green dot and its tools. Ask the agent which Laterbase workspace am I in?
and it answers with your workspace. The sign-in is listed under Connected apps on Connections.
Add the rule
Copy the rule into Cursor's Rules settings as a User Rule, so the agent pins without being asked.
Disconnect
Delete the server in Cursor's MCP settings, or its entry in mcp.json. To revoke its access from this side, press Disconnect next to it under Connected apps on Connections.
With an API key
If you'd rather not sign in, add the server with an API key.
- Sign in, open Connections on the dashboard and create an API key. It's shown once, so copy it into the snippet straight away. One key per machine keeps things tidy.
- Add the server to
~/.cursor/mcp.jsonfor every project, or to.cursor/mcp.jsonin one repo. Merge it intomcpServersif the file already has other servers.
Save the file. Cursor picks it up on its own; if it doesn't, toggle the server off and on in settings.
In more than one workspace? Add one server per workspace, each with its own key and a name like laterbase-acme, so agents can work in both at once. See Workspaces and connections.
In Cursor's settings, the MCP section lists laterbase with a green dot and its tools.
Delete the laterbase entry from mcp.json. To cut it off for good, revoke the key on Connections. Agents using it stop working on their next call.
